AASID is coming. Michelle has minutes, not hours, to save the woman she resurrected.

Holi alerts her: agents are en route to collect the patient. Michelle’s trauma, sharpened by betrayal and fear, becomes fuel. She improvises an escape plan with surgical precision.

She orders scrubs for Maryanne, fabricates a narrative about Jacob’s “interest” to confuse jurisdiction, and confirms the patient’s vitals, strong, stable, responsive. But Maryanne is amnesiac, frightened, and newly alive. “Considering I lived and died 133 years ago, I feel fine. I think,” she says, bewildered.

Michelle grabs Maryanne and bolts for the emergency stairwell. They slip through the institute just seconds before AASID reaches the floor. Michelle’s gamble is bold: if she can hand Maryanne to local police under Accords witness protection, AASID loses jurisdiction.

In the foyer, officers hesitate but allow them through. Michelle spots two detectives, one is Steven Wayne, the man who once saved her life. His presence is a shock, but also a lifeline. He agrees to escort them to Central for protective custody.

Just as they reach the cruiser, AASID agents burst into the foyer. Michelle nearly loses everything, until the police intervene, blocking the agents’ advance.

The cruiser lifts into the air. Michelle exhales for the first time in hours.

The resurrection is no longer a secret. It’s a fugitive.
