Then a second shock: Detective Steven Wayne appears, kills both agents, and drags Michelle and Jaxxon out through a rear airlock. He reveals the truth as their cruiser lifts above the city:

They’re trying to control the narrative of the Awakening. Gary’s final words echo in her mind. “They’re coming for all of us.”
