The Fall of Gemini City – Chapter Twenty-One – Post 21

Chapter Twenty‑One is the collapse of a civilization in real time.

Michelle races across Epsilon to find Maryanne, who stands outside the sealed complex, shaken and furious. Michelle tells her the truth: Jacob Wells is dead. AASID’s plan is active. Earth is no longer safe. They must leave, now.

Then the broadcast hits. Sally Redfield, the young reporter who dared to question, is dead. Another silenced voice. Another warning.

Michelle splits off to retrieve medical supplies from Mendel. Holi delivers the final blow: AASID has declared Michelle, Maryanne, and Jaxxon terrorists. Charges include murder, sabotage, and conspiracy. The city is being seized.

Michelle initiates a surgical escape using a robotic gurney and a forged transfer under the name Stephanie Brewster. The disguise nearly fails, but Holi manipulates hospital protocols, clearing the path. Michelle rides the drone ambulance out, wrapped in gauze and lies.

At Central Hospital, she’s intercepted by Detective Wayne, again. He rescues her, guiding her through alleys as black cruisers descend on Castor, the administrative heart of Gemini. The city falls under AASID control. The Accords are dead.

Wayne outfits her with a biometric scrambler. Drones blot out the sun. Michelle disappears into the shadows. Earth is no longer home. It’s a battlefield.

Teaser question: When a city falls to its own protectors, where can the truth survive?
